spicyness comes from the Red chilly that we add not from the capsicum so u can very well use this veggies ! it has lot of good nutrition value , i tried capsicum stir fried and used this veggies for the puloa and kadai vegetable ! Never tried this as chutney ! Every day we need chutney or sambhar so for a change i tried 🙂 its spicy tasty and hot !
Red capsicum – 1 finely chopped
Garlic – 5 nos (big one otherwise use 7 small ones)
Red chilly – 4 nos
Tomato – 1 nos finely chopped (big one otherwise use 2 nos)
salt -as required
Oil – 1 tbsp
Oil – 1 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – 5 to 6 leaves
Heat the Tawa and pour the oil once heat add the capsicum, tomato, garlic and red chilly saute till tomato oozes its water !
Off the flame and allow it cool and grind it nicely adjust salt ! Again heat the tawa and pour the oil and temper the chutney given under ” To temper” , serve with hot idly and Dosai !
- You can use any capsicum but red color will give the chutney in red color ! if u use green and yellow the color may change!
- I used 4 red chilly quiet spicy if u want less adjust according to the family !
- If the consistency of chutney is too thick u can add little water
