So one fine day i want to do the experiment on this tried and it came out really well ! its soft and tasty ! may be i added little more methi seeds ! thats the reason it has little (very minimal) bitter taste ! Other wise the recipe is perfect for diabetic definitely a very different options !
Pearl millet – 1 cup
Urad dal – 1/4 cup
Methi seeds – 1 tsp
salt – as required
Soak the pearl millet and urad dal and methi seeds for 3 to 4 hours ! either altogether or urad dal + methi seeds then soak the pearl millet separately !
Grind it by adjusting the salt and make the batter as we make for dosai ! rest it for 3 hrs
Then heat the dosai tawa and pour the batter and make the circle and sprinkle some oil
cook on both sides and serve hot !
- Alternatively you can use the pearl millet powder ! So instead of grinding al together u can grind dal alone and mix it and allow it to rest for 3 hrs ! (just an idea i didn’t tried)
- Infact you can add cummin seeds onion or curry leaves ! i want it plain so had it !
- I used kurunai Pearl millet (thats is broken one ) if u are using full pearl millet make sure the soaking time
