So coming to today recipe
Dal palak is one item constantly i prepare every week ! i include in my food in that way ! Last week i tried the same with different method of preparation ! it was dam good ! and it has little spicy Never mind when the taste is awesome !
To saute and grind
Palak (spinach)- 1 cup finely chopped and cleaned
Garlic – 4 to 5 without skin
Oil – 1 tsp
Green chilly – 3 – 4 adjust according to the family spiciness)
Mixed lentil – 1 cup (cooked and smashed)
I used toor dal ,moong dal and masoor dal
Onion – 2 medium finely chopped
Red chilly – 2 nos
ghee + oil – 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
Jeera – 1 tsp
turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Red chilly powder – 2 tsp
salt – as required
Heat the kadai and pour a tsp of oil and once heat add the ingredients mentioned under “to saute and grind” , saute well , then off the flame allow it to cool and grind it nicely keep a side !
Mean while boil the lentil with the required amt of turmeric and mash it and keep aside !
Heat the kadai and pour the oil and ghee , once heat add the mustard seeds once cracked add the jeera and red chilly saute till the chilly turns semi brown , then add the chopped onion and saute till it turns brown ! then add the grinded spinanch paste ! and adjust little water ! Now add the required amt of salt and red chilly powder mix well
allow it to boil well so that the raw smell goes ! it will take 5 to 7 minutes , then add the mashed mixed lentil and adjust water and salt ! allow it to boil for 5 to 8 minutes !
Serve hot with Roti or Rice
- The spiciness is depends on family taste so u can adjust anywhere in the process !
