To Fry and Grind
Pepper – 1tsp
Jeera – 1 tsp
Red chilly – 3 nos
Urad dal – 1 tbsp
Coconut – 1/4 cup
oil – 1/2 tsp
Brinjal – 4 to 5 medium size cut in to long size.
Mochai Paruppu – 1/2 cup (Green Beans)
Cooked Toor Dal – 1 cup (cooked + turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp)
salt – as required
Coconut oil – 1tsp
Mustard – 1tsp
oil – 1tsp
curry leaves – 10
hing – a pinch
Boil the toor dal separately by adding the Turmeric powder and keep as side. Now chop the veggies and bring it to boil by adding the water, and required amt of salt. once boiled add the cooked dal and mix well .
Now heat the kadai and fry the item given under ” To fry and grind” (except coconut) once fried allow it to cool completely and add the coconut and grind it nicely . now add the grinded paste to the dal and veggie gravy mix well adjust salt. make sure it mixes well and bring it to boil . once boiled off the flame
Again heat the tawa and add the ingredients given under ” TO temper” , then add the items to the recipes and mix well , before serve add a tsp of coconut oil. all set to go with Plain Rice.
- Adding coconut oil is an optional but i would recommend to do it has flavor and taste
- Also ‘do not add any other spice powder as it already has pepper and red chilly .
- You can try with other veggies like Snake guard, green peas and drumstick , very apt one wont required any side dish
