Very rarely i prepare this groundnut chutney at home, May be six months once, to get a change over. Because we become addictive to this creamy chutney , So more on health note i occasionally prepare this chutney , We end up taking more id lies and Dosai.
In fact i have not tasted this ground nut chutney in my childhood, My mother always prepare coconut chutney without fried gram , or plain coconut chutney. I tasted this more in restaurant, and tried first time in my initial days of marriage to impress every one 😉 Any one can prepare this and this is a fail proof recipe.
Yes, U can very well prepare this creamy texture chutney and it wont fail so off to recipe
peanut or ground nut – 1/4 cup
Red chilly – 3 nos
Coconut – 3/4 cup (shredded or chopped or grated)
Tamarind – a pinch
Hing – a pinch
salt as required
Oil – 1 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
curry leaves – to temper
Grind all the ingredients mentioned under “to grind” by pouring the required amt of water.Adjust salt, Transfer the mixture in to vessel. Now heat the kadai and add the oil once heat add the mustard seeds once cracked add the curry leaves, transfer it to the chutney
Mix well serve it with hot Idly or Dosai.
- Generally it peanut chutney is prepared replacing the fried gram in the coconut chutney.
