Clean and wash the apple and pat dry those apple. Then cut in to four halves and remove the seeds and peel the skin too , then chop the apples. Transfer those apple in to the mixie and grind in to smooth paste.Make sure no lumps are there.
Heat the kadai and pour the tsp of ghee, once melt, add the cashews and fry till it turns to red.Now Remove it from the kadai and pour the 2 tbsp of ghee , once melt, add the grind-ed apple paste and saute till it absorbs all the water and starts thickening. It will take 10 to 15 minutes.
once its thick, then pour the sugar, it will tend to loose, do not worry, keep stirring. btw add the food color and cardamon spice.,One point it starts leaving the sides , keep stirring do not leave, once it completely comes together off the flame.
Mean while get ready with your box with greased ghee if u want to make a slice, otherwise you can collect the mixture in a bowl serve it . If u want shape, you need to transfer the content to the desired box and allow it to cool completely , it will take 1 hr to 2 hr. Then transfer in to plate and cut in to squares or which ever shape u need . Or else u can immediately serve it in a bowl if shape does not matter.
- I added 1 cup sugar and felt it was too much for me , but hubby has no complaints, So u can try with 3/ 4 later u can add the needed sugar by tasting it.
- Keep stirring so that it wont form any lumps,
- Grinding the apple is one option , otherwise u can grate the apple and saute.
- If u want shape grease those vessel with ghee
