Actually i want to try the roux method of preparing the dough, but due to some other reasons i couldnot prepare it , next time i will try those. So care should be taken on the yeast, i give the detailed information about the yeast part, please go through it, Do use the good brand of yeast to get the good result. So go on try your own dinner roll or pav bun.

All purpose flour – 3 cups
Instant yeast – 1 1/2 tsp or active yeast – 2 1/2 tsp
butter – 3 tbsp
sugar – 2 tbsp
Salt – 3/4 tsp
Warm milk – 1 cup + 2 tbsp for brushing
warm water – 1/4 cup
Note when u are acitive dry yeast you need to prove the yeast before you mix it in the APF, by mixing the yeast, warm milk and leave it for 10 minutes, u can see the frothy mixture, which can be used in the APF. If it is instant yeast you can use it directly. i have used the instant yeast, so i have mixed it directly
Take a wide bottomed vessel, add then APF, salt, sugar and butter, mix well so that it will form a crumble texture.
Then add the Instant yeast and warm water, milk, mix nicely and form a pliable dough. I used the complete 1 cup of warm milk, and it was sufficient enough to form a pliable dough, if u are not sure of 1 cup then pour the milk slowly and mix it and make a smooth dough. apply some oil on the dough and place it in the warm place, and wait till it forms double in size.
Check the dough, if it s raised double in size, well if not allow it to raise… Once raised punched down the dough, knead the dough well and divide the dough in to equal parts, i got 8 medium size dough, form a ball shape and place it in the tray (greased with oil) by leaving a small gap.
Now again allow the dough to raise one more time, which will take less then 30 minutes, once raised, brush the top with milk /butter, i used butter :D. Preheat the oven as per your oven instruction.
Bake the bun at 200 degree for 25 minutes or till it baked, you can see the brown color on the top of the bun. Once baked allow it cool and enjoy the bun for the dinner, or you can make pav bhajji or vada pav 😀 or else u can make a butter jam bun. Before u serve just brush again with butter. it will be supery tasty.
- Check you are using a correct yeast, so that whole process comes out well.
- If dough did not raise properly , keep it in the warm temperature oven and leave ..it will be double.
- I used my 8 inch pan and normal glass bowl which occupied my 8 medium size bun, if u have big tray you can use that too.
