Wheat Rava – 1/3 cup
Water – 1 + 1/2 cup water(if needed in btw pour 1/4 cup of water)
salt – as required
Green chilly – 1 no finely chopped
Onion – 1/4 cup finely chopped(optional)
butter milk – 1 cup + if needed
Hing – a pinch
Take the wheat rava in the heavy bottomed vessel, and pour the water as mentioned.add salt, mix well . then keep the medium flame.
Stir the mixture occasionally, and if u want u can keep it covered. wait for 10 minutes, when you check it mixture become thick, and start getting mushy. Now if u want it you can 1/4 cup of water, cook for other 5 minutes. check if it is done. off the flame. allow the mixture to cool completely.
Then add the buttermilk, green chilly, hing and onion and give a mix and serve. Instead you can make the neer mor and mix it . Both have the same taste.while serving you can have some chopped onions or fried chillies or else fried gram thick chutney is the best accompaniments i have ever had.
- I used the thin variety of wheat rava, so cooking time is very easy for me. I got those tiny varieties from Niligris.
- If u are using the thick variety ,then cooking time vary.
- Adding green chilly and onion are optional. It gives extra flavor.
- You can even make no onion version
