Fried gram – 1/4 cup
Red chilly – 3 nos
Onion – 3 nos medium size
Salt – as required
oil – 2 tsp
Oil – 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1tsp
urad dal – 1tsp
curry leaves – few to temper
Heat the kadai and pour the oil once heat, add the red chilly and fried gram saute till its start change in color, that time add the chopped onion and required amt of salt, and saute till onion changes it color.
Allow it to cool completely and grind it in the mixie to Nice texture, transfer the mixture to the bowl, and temper the chutney as mentioned in the ” To temper ” column,
Serve it with Hot Idly/dosai
- You can do variations by adding a garlic and coconut,
- Red chilly brings nice flavor. So do not try to replace it with green chilly.
- Tamarind is optional, we do not like tangy taste, so i did not add.
- Adjust the chutney consistency according to the family requirement.
