Onion – 2 medium size
Ridge gourd – 2 medium size
Green Chilly – 3 finely chopped
salt – as required
Oil – 1 tbsp
Oil – 1 tsp
mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Do not peel the entire skin of ridge gourd, just remove the sharp parts.
Heat the kadai and pour the oil,once hot,add the chopped onion and green chilly, saute till onion changes its color,they take away from the kadai and pour the chopped Ridge gourd . saute till its shrinks. off the flame, mix both and grind it nicely by adding the enough salt.
Temper the chutney given under ” TO temper” and mix well , serve it for Idly/ Dosai.
- This is a simple version by do variations by adding the ginger, tamarind and replacing the green chilly with red chilly
- saute every thing well i.e till the raw smell goes.otherwise you feel the raw taste in the chutney
- Adding garlic is one such option.
